I talked to an ac guy today, he has been in the business for 30+ years. We were brainstorming energy saving ideas. We talked about a potential money saving idea on my ac unit. This energy solution entails soaking the high pressure liquid line in the ac condensate; doing this will pre-chill the coolant making the coil cool better. We discussed how it could be easy to achieve this feat, given the right set of conditions. This weekend, I am going to see if I can mock up a prototype of this on my ac unit and give it a try.
I would be interested if anyone out there has tried this, if you have data, please leave a comment.
